The Bahamas, also known as the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, is located in the West Indies. This group of islands, of which there are 700, make the Bahamas a highly popular tourist destination for Americans and Europeans as well as other travellers. The country’s capital is Nassau, its official language is English and it has a population of just over 350,000. The country’s currency is the Bahamian dollar (BSD).
